Today at the ordinary September plenary session an institutional motion was passed to approve the naming of a roundabout in Benalmádena after Federico Sánchez Camacho, a well-known local businessman who recently passed away, for his business and social work in the town.
"Known and recognised by the business and social sector of the town, we urge the naming of a roundabout in Benalmádena after Mr. Federico Sánchez Camacho, in posthumous recognition of his career as a prominent local businessman, for his contributions and achievements for the benefit of the municipality, and as president of the Association of Traders and Entrepreneurs of Benalmádena (ACEB), the most representative business association of the town and the longest-lived, established in 1987", said the councillor for Commerce, Javier Marín.
Federico Sánchez was president of the ACEB from 1993 to 1995. He bravely assumed the leadership of the association in the midst of the economic crisis in Spain, and together with his ACEB board he was able, not only to maintain the activity of the association and encourage support for local business during those difficult years, but also to strengthen the number of associated entrepreneurs. He also sowed the first seed of a project that came to fruition in 2004: the construction of the current headquarters of the ACEB, a building that today houses the headquarters of the association, and which, as an entity declared of Public Utility, hosts in its facilities a large number of events, training and workshops conducted by other non-profit groups, thus promoting the integration and employability of the unemployed or at risk of social exclusion, among other achievements.
Federico Sánchez was also known and appreciated for his long professional career on the Costa del Sol: he founded the company Segurisur in Arroyo de la Miel in 1984. His acceptance in the market soon allowed him to extend his range of services to electronic security systems and surveillance services, and in 1986 he was approved as a security company. In 2003, the company opened its alarm centre in the PTA (Parque Tecnológico de Andalucía). In 2007 it acquired the company Rojiper with clients in the area of Nerja and the coast of Granada, as a clear commitment to the east coast of Malaga. This company has been awarded several times for its constant innovation and long trajectory, which has allowed it to grow to become a leader in such a competitive sector as security.
From Segurisur, Federico Sánchez has supported, sponsored and sponsored numerous activities and events in and outside Benalmádena: examples of this are the Turkey Race, the Bicycle Festival, business events organised by other groups, as well as numerous acts of solidarity, demonstrating his generosity and interest in benefiting all those around him.
In the same way, Federico Sánchez was founder and president of the Asociación Malagueña de Empresas de Seguridad and a member of the board of directors of the Federación Empresarial Andaluza de Seguridad. He was also co-founder of Peña Caballista de Benalmádena in 2007, an association which, among other activities, actively collaborated with charities.
