During the ordinary September plenary session, held this morning, initial approval was given to the regulatory bases for the granting of subsidies to Benalmádena's retail and hospitality trade in areas affected by municipal works on public roads.
The approval has counted with the favourable vote of the government team (PSOE and IU) and the non-attached councillor, and the abstention of PP, Cs and VOX.
"With this aid we want to provide support to retailers and hotel and catering businesses with commercial premises at street level in areas affected by municipal works on public roads, and with the aim of helping to subsidise the costs of maintenance and conservation of their activity during the period of execution of the work," said the mayor of Benalmádena, Víctor Navas.
"This aid is the result of the government team's desire to offer help to retail businesses when they are affected by the development of municipal works, and on this occasion it is aimed at businesses affected by the remodelling that we are currently carrying out on Avenida Alay", explained the councillor for Commerce, Javier Marín.
"These are non-competitive grants, which will amount to 1,500 euros per business affected in the case of works lasting less than six months, and 3,000 euros per business affected in works lasting more than six months," said Marín.
"These subsidies have initially been proposed for businesses affected by the works on Avenida Alay: our intention is to modify the bases in the future to adapt them to new needs that may arise in municipal works that we undertake," said the councillor.
